Most companies begin with a product. Ours began with a purpose.
How can engineering become a meaningful contribution to protecting life?
That question eventually led Alex Campos, a telecommunications engineer student with a lifelong passion for nature, to dedicate his career to wildlife conservation through engineering. Rather than becoming a biologist or veterinarian, he chose to contribute in a different way—by applying his strongest abilities to help the people who dedicate their lives to understanding and protecting wildlife.
That idea became Telenax.

Who We Are
Since 2005, Telenax has specialized exclusively in wildlife telemetry.
80+ Countries
1,000+ Projects
500+ Species
Those numbers matter, but they are not what define us.
What defines us is the belief that engineering is most valuable when it helps answer meaningful scientific questions. Behind every tracking unit is a researcher investing years of work. Behind every position is an opportunity to understand wildlife a little better. And behind every successful project is knowledge that may help protect an ecosystem for generations.
Our Mission and How We Work
Our mission is to help wildlife researchers achieve better telemetry studies through engineering expertise, honest technical guidance and reliable, affordable technology.
- What species are you studying?
- What are you trying to discover?
- What are the environmental conditions?
- What are the practical constraints?
Only after understanding the project do we recommend the technology and configuration.
What We Believe
Engineering and biology work together
Researchers understand their species, ecosystems and scientific objectives. We contribute expertise in telemetry, electronics and telecommunications.
Honesty is part of engineering
We explain limitations, discuss unrealistic expectations openly and recommend another approach when it would better serve the project.
Trust is built before delivery
Long-term relationships depend on technical competence, transparency and continued support.
The Story Behind Telenax
The company was not built overnight.
Alex’s journey included years of searching for purpose, volunteering with Greenpeace, participating in one of Mexico’s early GPS jaguar tracking projects, supporting wildlife telemetry projects internationally, and finally returning to Mexico in 2005 with his wife to risk everything they had in a company founded on conviction rather than opportunity.
There were no investors. No guarantees. Only the belief that engineering could become a meaningful contribution to wildlife conservation.
More than two decades later, that same conviction continues to guide every recommendation, every engineering decision and every conversation we have.
Our Commitment
We believe the best way to revere life is to admire it, respect it, and help protect its ability to exist and thrive.
Every person contributes in a different way.
Engineering is ours.
Beyond Engineering
Between 2020 and 2024, Alex wrote The Journey of Kukulkan – Quetzalcoatl. Although independent from Telenax, the novel and the company were born from the same purpose: inspiring a deeper respect for life and encouraging each person to contribute through their own abilities.
Engineering became one way to contribute.
Writing became another.
