VHF
While its use requires human interaction, this is the most cost-effective, smallest, lightest and longest lasting option for wildlife tracking.
Also known as radio-tracking. Electromagnetic signals are broadcasted by the unit attached to the animal. These signals are received by a specialized wildlife tracking receiver and a directive antenna which allows you to determine in which straight direction the signal is coming from.
Tracking distance between animal's unit and receiving system:
- Up to 40 km (25 miles) under ideal conditions and strongest units
- 500 meters to 10 km (0.3 to 6 miles) in most real-life conditions, depending on type of unit, specie and local conditions.
We offer some of the smallest radio tracking equipment available in the world. Developed with the greatest quality and components to withstand wildlife treatment. Customized to best suit your needs.
Extra optional capabilities:
- Activity-Inactivity-Mortality sensor
- Posture sensor (between 2 customer-specified options)
- Water sensor
- Drop-off
